Sizwe is a performer, writer and filmmaker. He has been in the film and Television industry for almost 15 years. He studied Broadcasting Television Production, a two-year certificate course at the University of the Witwatersrand. Like everyone else he started off as an office intern at Curious Pictures, now called Quizzical Pictures. This afforded him opportunities to freelance on various sets as an AD. His passion for acting and writing caused him to leave the industry for 4 years to study Dramatic Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand. While studying, he landed his first writing work on Isibaya (Bomb Film Company) as a trainee storyliner and writer in 2014. Angus Gipson’s repeated remarks were: “Sizwe, you have a rare talent for comedy.” That inspired him to write his own play for the 4th Year showcase called The Rural Court, staged at the Market Theatre. It was a single hander where he played 6 different characters; and that was a final year exam performance that landed him his degree. He has freelanced as a writer and actor for various productions in the industry. He is passionate about creating work and his extroverted personality makes it easy for him to have chemistry with other writers in any room.
